Theorem 10.5  Angle Between Two Vectors

 

Direction Cosines
  The direction cosines are the cosines of the angles the vector in standard position makes with the x-axis, y-axis, and z-axis.  The basis vectors i, j, and k could be used as the direction vectors for the coordinate axes.

If we take the vector v to have components as given below

 then to find alpha compute

and to find beta compute

and to find gamma compute
